The following is the actual press statement from the MASSACHUSETTS STATE POLICE DETECTIVES, CAPE AND ISLANDS & the CAPE COD DRUG TASK FORCE
ARREST OF Rory HADDAD, 27, 19 Nautical Way, South Dennis, MA
1) Illegal possession of a large capacity firearm (AR-15 style semi-automatic rifle)
2) Improper storage of a large capacity firearm (AR-15 style semi-automatic rifle)
On Sunday morning, April 1, 2017, at approximately 6:45 AM, a State Search Warrant was executed at 19 Nautical Way in South Dennis, MA. This search warrant was executed as the result of an investigation conducted by the Massachusetts State Police Cape Cod Drug Task Force and was directed at the recovery of an illegally possessed semi-automatic AR-15 style 5.56 rifle. Due to the suspected presence of this rifle, the Massachusetts State Police STOP Team (the highly trained tactical unit of the Massachusetts State Police) was utilized. The STOP Team gained entry and secured the residence and three (3) occupants without incident.
Inside the residence, officers identified Rory W. HADDAD, 27, his girlfriend Kristina G. EMMONS, 25, and Rory HADDAD’s mother; Susan D. HADDAD, 56, all of 19 Nautical Way, South Dennis, MA. A subsequent search of the residence pursuant to the search warrant revealed a semi-automatic AR-15 style rifle in 5.56 (caliber). The weapon appeared to be a custom built rifle assembled with variety of components (see photo). Located with the rifle were several high capacity (over 10 rounds) magazines. Additionally, a Point Blank ballistics body armor vest, disguised as a man’s clothing item (see photo) was located and seized.
As a result of the investigation, Rory HADDAD was transported to Massachusetts State Police Barracks at South Yarmouth where he was booked and held pending bail arrangements.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated.
