*** WATCH *** FIRE ON THE CENTERVILLE RIVER: 26 Short Beach Road… [UPDATED DETAILS]
OFFICIAL UPDATE FROM COMM FD – 12/21/21: The Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department responded to a house fire on Short Beach Road in Centerville at 8:50 pm. First arriving units found a three story wood frame residence with fire venting from the third floor on the rear of the unoccupied building. Crews made an aggressive interior attack and found fire on all three floors. A second alarm was transmitted bringing additional resources from surrounding fire departments to the scene. Multiple hose lines were deployed and ground ladders were placed around the building. Fire crews operated on three floors and the roof until the fire was brought under control. One firefighter is being evaluated for an injury. The cause of the fire is under investigation. C-O-MM Fire received assistance from mutual aid companies from Hyannis, Barnstable, Cotuit, West Barnstable, Mashpee, Yarmouth and Sandwich fire departments. State Fire Marshal, Barnstable County BCI, Barnstable Police, Red Cross, Barnstable Building Inspector and Electrical Inspector assisted on scene as well.
