[BREAKING] RAW HN VIDEO: Child suffered serious burns after falling into campfire at Cape Codder Resort… Medflight helicopter couldn’t fly due to fog…
HYANNIS – As you will see following RAW HN Video, at about 9:30PM last evening, police and firefighters responded to the Cape Codder Resort after a young child suffered serious burns after falling into some type of fire in the courtyard area.
A MedFlight helicopter was not available due to dense fog… so as you will see, Hyannis Rescue arrived and almost immediatedly took the child in one of their ambulances to be driven to a Boston area burn unit.
WCVB is reporting that the 7-year-old child suffered burns to the arms after an accident at a “campfire.”
Boston 25 News is reporting that the Cape Codder Resort holds a weekend fire pit in the beach area, where children are allowed to cook marshmallows.
The gender of the child was not given and no further details were available at the time of this report.

6/2/2018 UPDATE FROM THE BARNSTABLE POLICE DEPARTMENT:
On 6/1/18 just before 10:00pm, Barnstable Police, along with the Hyannis Fire Department, were called to the The Cape Codder Resort & Spa on Rte. 132 after a 7-year-old male fell into a fire pit. The young boy sustained what appeared to be second and third degree burns to both arms. Due to inclement weather, med flight operations were unavailable and the child was transported by ambulance to Boston Children’s Hospital. The cause of the fall remains under investigation.
