COPS: Repeat offender arrested and charged with heroin distribution…

On 10/17/2014, After a two (2) week investigation by the Barnstable Police Department Narcotics Unit, John P Antrim, age 27, of Centerville was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute class A heroin. ANTRIM is very well known to the Barnstable Police Department and currently has two (2) open cases in Barnstable County Courts for heroin distribution related offenses. On 10/17/2014, the Barnstable Police Narcotics Unit, Barnstable Street Crime Unit, Yarmouth Police Department, and Massachusetts State Police initiated surveillance on ANTRIM.
ANTRIM was believed to be traveling off Cape to the Boston area to purchase heroin. Police units followed ANTRIM and subsequently stopped him on Shoot Flying Hill Road, Centerville in the area of his residence. He was a passenger in a motor vehicle being operated by an adult male from Sandwich. Members of the surveillance units observed ANTRIM attempting to hide something believed to be narcotics on his person.
ANTRIM was transported to the Barnstable Police Department for additional follow up investigation. Mashpee K-9 Patrol Officer Michael Assad and his narcotics K-9 responded to the Barnstable Police Department to assist. The K-9 indicated ANTRIM had narcotics hidden on his person. A subsequent search revealed ANTRIM was in possession of ten (10) grams of heroin. He was charged with possession of class A heroin with intent to distribute. ANTRIM is currently being held on a $25,000 cash bail at Barnstable PD.
