INITIAL STORY:
39-year-old construction worker medflighted after crushed by concrete in South Yarmouth…
[YPD MEDIA STATEMENT] On 1/11/21 at approximately 11:23 am the Yarmouth Police Department received a 911 call regarding an accident at a construction site on Cranberry Lane in South Yarmouth. The caller, a worker on scene, reported that the victim had been pinned by a large piece of concrete. The victim was identified as a 39 year old male from Brewster who is the owner of the company performing the work.

Members of the Yarmouth Police and Yarmouth Fire Department arrived on scene and found the victim, still inside the foundation, with serious injuries. The victim suffered serious injuries to his upper and lower extremities when a large piece of concrete fell on him. The victim was conscious and talking when rescuers arrived. The victim was freed from the concrete by other workers on scene prior to the arrival of the police and fire departments.
Due to the severity of the injuries the victim was taken to Hyannis Airport and transported via med-flight to a Boston hospital. The name of the victim is being withheld at this time pending notification of family.
