*** WATCH *** Driver arrested for OUI after crashing into Dennis Port Arts & Crafts shop, small trees, parked pickup…
DENNIS PORT – [DEVELOPING] – A driver was arrested for OUI late last Sunday evening after crashing into a parked Dodge Ram, then ricocheting over a curb and small tree, before plowing into “Art & Carafes,” an art studio located at 674 Main Street late Sunday evening. The crash happened shortly before 11:00 p.m. and the popular downtown Main Street/Rte. 28 needed to be completely closed as police investigated the scene. Rescue evaluated the driver for minor injures and sources on scene reported he was facing charges for Operating Under the Influence. Fortunately no pedestrians were struck, as this all happened in the area of the Red Nun Bar & Grill, and patrons were out walking, coming and going from the establishment. The building inspector was reportedly called to check out the building’s structural integrity. The damaged storefront was cordoned off with caution tape prior to first responders clearing the scene, responding to yet another separate crash that also closed down Rte. 28 in Dennis Port (Stay tuned for HN Video coverage of that 2nd serious crash involving two full size pickup trucks).
The Dennis Police Department is investigating.
