*** WATCH *** Multiple cruisers respond to Dennis Port disturbance after report of someone possibly with a gun… one in custody…
DENNIS PORT – A Hyannis News camera was rolling as officers took a man into custody during some type of disturbance early this morning.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m., Dennis and Harwich police cruisers responded to a disturbance at a party on Center Street. Somebody was yelling about somebody possibly having a gun, according to police radio transmissions. Responding units were advised to “use caution.” A second police radio transmission described the situation as a party that “turned into a disturbance and a threat of a firearm.”
One of the first patrolmen on scene reported, “I’m off, I need extra units now.” A Dennis police sergeant arrived soon thereafter and radioed for Harwich to start responding until they could sort out what was going on.
The following HN Video highlights police radio transmissions and a man being taken into custody… It’s uncertain what he will be charged with. No further details were available at the time of this report. HN will provide official updates as they become available…
