HN VIDEO: YOUNG MAN REPORTEDLY STABBED IN ABDOMEN AT BEACH PARKING LOT IN DENNIS… [UPDATED]
DENNIS – [DEVELOPING] – All we know at this point is that police and EMTs initially responded to the Gray’s Beach parking lot in Yarmouth Port for a report of a stabbing last evening at around 8:35 p.m..
First responders found a young man, approximately age 20 (based on radio transmissions), with an apparent stab wound to the abdomen…
… and there was also a lot of blood, according to sources.
Firefighters and police quickly announced that the actual stabbing may have taken place at Corporation Beach in Dennis, not Gray’s Beach. As you will hear in the following HN Video, the victim reportedly drove himself to Gray’s Beach from Corporation Beach before calling for help.
The victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital while Dennis Police officers responded to the Corporation Beach parking lot to secure the crime scene. Upon arrival, Dennis officers reportedly discovered “a backpack, a hat, a flip-flop… and a puddle of blood.” And as you will see in the following HN Video, there also appeared to be a very large knife that was eventually picked up off the pavement and carefully placed inside a brown paper evidence bag…
Members of the Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit responded to the hospital and both beaches to take photos and collect evidence, according to radio traffic.
As you will hear in the following HN Video, Dennis Police put out a B.O.L.O early this morning, looking for a male allegedly involved in an Armed Robbery and an Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. It’s uncertain if the suspect in the B.O.L.O. is involved in the earlier stabbing. But based on the charges, it’s a possibility.
This is a developing story and HN will provide official updates as soon as they become available. The victim’s current condition was unknown at the time of this report. [DEVELOPING]
