DEVELOPING: Police detain youths after someone allegedly saw them breaking and entering… [VIDEO]
DENNIS PORT – DEVELOPING – Two young males were taken away in handcuffs, and two young females were also taken back to police headquarters after police received a report of a breaking and entering into a nearby house.
At about 1:14PM, Dennis squad cars rushed to 254 Upper County Road for a B&E that had just occurred. According to police radio transmissions, the reporting party saw someone break a window and enter the house. Police were looking for what was described as “four kids,” who had just left the area after some type of alarm sounded.
Harwich Police were also notified since the scene of the alleged crime was about a block from the Dennis/Harwich town line.
Officers saturated the general area and it didn’t take them long to encounter four suspects in front of the Improper Bostonian nightclub, which is roughly a block away from the scene.
One of the handcuffed males was said to be a juvenile. His mother arrived at the scene to speak with officers before he was transported back to police headquarters.
The second handcuffed young adult male was also transported back to headquarters in a separate cruiser.
The two juvenile females were not handcuffed and were transported away from the scene in a third cruiser.
A Barnstable County Deputy Sheriff crime scene identification officer arrived to take photos and gather evidence.
Dennis police are investigating and no further details were available at the time of this report.
