Driver hurt after Super Duty Ford pickup slams into a tree in Brewster… [HN VIDEO]
BREWSTER – A male driver was hurt after his Super Duty Ford pickup left the roadway and slammed into a tree last evening around midnight.
The first police officers on scene found the driver unresponsive but breathing. Rescue arrived and a Medflight helicopter was dispatched to the Brewster Town Hall as it appeared as though an airlift was necessary. The driver eventually came around, however, and was reportedly responsive and alert. Medflight was then canceled and the patient was transported to Cape Cod Hospital for further treatment. His current condition was unknown at the time of this report.
The crash happened on Route 137 near the intersection with Tower Hill Circle and the roadway needed to be completely shut down for a period of time.
Police are considering the possibility the driver may have fallen asleep before veering off the roadway. The crash scene is being investigated by the Brewster Police Department.
