26-year-old crash victim transported to Falmouth Hospital after being trapped underneath rolled-over SUV… [HN VIDEO]
EAST FALMOUTH – [INITIAL HN REPORT] – As you will hear in the following HN Audio/Visual, a crash victim was transported to Falmouth Hospital under a trauma alert after being trapped underneath a rolled over SUV near the intersecion of Route 28 and Judy Ann Drive. The call came in during Moday’s early morning hours (around 2:00 a.m.). EMTs were informed that MedFlight wasn’t flying due to weather. First responders managed to extricate the patient and transport him to Falmouth Hospital via ambulance. Falmouth Police closed down a section of Route 28 as firefighters and investigators worked the scene.
The Falmouth Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
FALMOUTH PD MEDIA STATEMENT: East Falmouth Man Trapped Under Car Rescued by First Responders- At about 2 am on Monday (May 31, 2021) a Judy Ann Dr. resident reported hearing a male screaming near the intersection of East Falmouth Hwy. (Rt. 28) and Judy Ann Drive. Officers located a rollover crash involving a 2004 GMC Envoy SUV with the operator trapped under it. Officers Christopher Livingston, Joshua Oliver, Stephen Senior and Tyler Narbonne were able to lift the SUV up high enough to relieve pressure on the operator and allow a Falmouth Fire/Rescue paramedic to pull the man out from underneath the vehicle. The male operator had sustained serious injuries that appeared to be life threatening. He was treated at the scene and transported by ambulance to Falmouth Hospital. Due to weather conditions Med Flight was unavailable. An investigation revealed that Anthony J. Gonsalves, age 26 of East Falmouth was traveling west on East Falmouth Hwy. (Rt 28) at a high rate of speed on wet roads, lost control, left the roadway, and rolled the vehicle over. The vehicle was towed. Update (10 am)- Gonsalves has been transferred to an off Cape medical facility due to his injuries.
