*** WATCH *** Falmouth police actively investigating crash that damaged home… disabled Jeep located short distance away…
NORTH FALMOUTH – [DEVELOPING] – At the time of this report – 1:30 a.m. – Falmouth Police officers are still actively investigating a single vehicle crash that damaged a home shortly prior to 11:00 p.m. last evening at 218 County Road.
As you will see in the following video, HN responded to the crash scene when firefighters reported an odor of gas, broken pipes, and other damage inside the home. National Grid was called to the scene to inspect the leaking gas lines which had already been shut off by firefighters, according to radio transmissions. The building inspector was also called to investigate structural damage.
Police located a damaged Jeep which apparently had become disabled on the side of County Road, a short distance away from the crash scene.
It’s uncertain if the driver of the Jeep fled from the disabled Jeep, but according to sources, officers were still working the scene as of approximately 1:30 a.m. – over two and a half hours after the initial crash.
