Firefighters use Jaws of Life to free 78-year-old woman from single vehicle crash… [HN VIDEO] [UPDATED DETAILS]
DENNIS PORT – Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to peel back a guardrail and gain access to a vehicle in order to help a [78-year-old Harwich] woman who was hurt in a single vehicle crash early this morning.
At about 12:19 a.m., first responders were called to Upper County Road in the area of the Swan Pond River after a SUV left the roadway and crashed into a guardrail [and tree], causing front and side airbags to deploy.
An [elderly] woman was extricated and attended to inside an ambulance prior to being transported to CCH with unknown injuries. According to sources, the woman’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Upper County Road was completely shut down for a period of time as emergency personnel worked the scene.
