GRAND JURY: Frantantonio looking at first degree murder indictment in domestic slaying…
The following is the actual press statement from Cape & Island District Attorney Michael O’Keefe:
Cape & Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe announced today that a Barnstable County Grand Jury returned indictments today against Christopher S. Fratantonio DOB (11/28/80) for first degree murder and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon in connection with the stabbing death of his wife Mary J. Fratantonio DOB (6/11/81).
These charges stem from an incident that occurred on February 28, 2017 at 1:50am when Barnstable Police received several 911 calls from various parties regarding a violent crime that had taken place at 89 Trout Brook Road in Cotuit where both parties lived.
When police arrived they observed Christopher S. Fratantonio at the house where he was arrested for the murder of his wife. Preliminary investigation revealed the cause of death as multiple sharp force trauma. Fratantonio is being held without bail at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility and will be arraigned in Barnstable Superior Court in due course.
The matter remains under investigation by Barnstable Police and State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office. The case is being prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Michael A. Trudeau and Assistant District Attorney Michael Patterson.
