“Gunshot” heard, window smashed, belongings stolen…
Marstons Mills – Multiple Barnstable Police squad cars responded to the Long Pond Conservation Area this afternoon for a report of a gunshot and theft.
Upon arrival officers learned the passenger-side window of a Honda CRV may had been smashed by a bullet.
According to several witnesses a gunshot was heard before the broken window was discovered.
A purse was stolen from the Honda CRV and according to a witness on scene, the thief had already made several attempts to use the female victim’s credit cards.
Thankfully, the owner of the purse promptly notified her credit card company, disabling access to her accounts.
Police are hoping for good surveillance footage at the nearby locations where the thief attempted to use the credit cards…
A Barnstable Crime Scene Investigator also dusted for finger prints…
As of right now it is uncertain whether or not police have any other leads.
