UPDATE – 5/12/2021 – According to Sgt. Aram Goshgarian of the Harwich Police Department, Mitchel Letourneau, age 23, of Gorham, Maine, was arrested and charged with Drunk Driving, Operating to Endanger, and Marked Lanes Violation.
HARWICH – [HN NOTES – DEVELOPING] – The crash happened shortly after midnight… involving a single car into at least two parked cars, a hydrant and a utility pole in the area of 1646 Orleans Road.
As of now, there are no reports of serious injuries, but an accident reconstruction team was called in, likely because of the amount of damage and likelihood of excessive speed, according to radio transmissions.
HN has reached out to Harwich Police investigators, they have had a very busy morning so far and I will update this report as soon as more details become available…
The Harwich Police, Harwich Firefighters, Brewster Police, a Barnstable County Sheriff’s crime scene photographer, and members of the regional accident reconstruction team all responded to the scene.
