*** WATCH *** Driver arrested for drunk driving after passenger called police saying she was “being held against her will…”
HARWICH – At about 9:40 p.m. last evening, state troopers began trying to catch up to a white Toyota Corolla with a female passenger telling dispatch she was being held against her will by the person driving. The Corolla was traveling eastbound on Route 6 in the area of Harwich.
Harwich police officers were also alerted regarding the situation and one of their patrolmen eventually spotted the Corolla traveling eastbound on Queen Anne Road. Harwich police then conducted a traffic stop as state troopers also began arriving on scene.
According to police sources, the female and the male knew each other well, and alcohol had played a huge factor in the evening’s events. The female had decided she wanted to go home, which eventually brought the evening to a close for both parties. The female was given a ride back to Dennis by a Harwich police officer, and the male driver was arrested for drunk driving by another Harwich police officer.
