MASSIVE FUEL SPILL: Tanker set upright again… gasoline containment and cleanup ongoing… busy area of Harwich Port still closed down… [HN VIDEO]
HARWICH PORT – As of 5:45 p.m., crews are still on scene working a major gasoline cleanup operation in Harwich Port on Sisson Road after a tanker truck rolled over early this morning.
An entire area surrounding Shaws supermarket remains closed down at the time of this report as cleanup crews continue to deal with puddles of gasoline and widespread fuel contamination.
Bystanders are being kept at a distance as gasoline fumes are still overwhelming the general vicinity.
Officials are still investigating what actually caused the tanker to roll over.
Recovery crews emptied the tanker of its leaking fuel. And nearby fuel puddles were also suctioned into a specialized tanker.
