HIT & RUN: Bicyclist reportedly went over hood of blue sedan that fled the scene… [Video]
WEST YARMOUTH – Police were searching for a small blue sedan, like a Prius, with possible damage to the hood, as the bicyclist was said to have gone over the hood after being struck…
… and the driver then fled the scene.
At about 9:25pm last evening, police and rescue responded to Route 28 in front of Beckers Package Store for a hit and run accident where a bicyclist was struck.
The bicyclist was sitting up and alert when HN arrived. He was transported to CCH with injuries which did not appear to be life threatening.
Meanwhile, patrol officers scoured the area and stopped vehicles matching the description of the hit and run vehicle.
Officers spoke with witnesses who stopped to help the man. They also checked with nearby businesses for video of the accident.
In the end, police were unable to locate the suspect vehicle and the accident remains under investigation.
A friend took care of the man’s bicycle after he went in the ambulance…
