Above: A state trooper takes a 21-year-old Fall River woman into custody during a Hyannis traffic stop. The stop happened on Main street near the intersection with Barnstable Road early this morning. According to radio transmissions, the woman had a default warrant for her arrest out of Fall River District Court for Assault & Battery and Resisting Arrest charges. The vehicle she was riding in was flagged with a notice from the Boston Police Department. The Boston PD was investigating a report of a person with a gun associated with the vehicle. It apparently was a rental vehicle, according to radio transmissions. The state police contacted the BPD regarding the stop and exchanged information. The vehicle and its operator were free to leave once the woman was taken into custody. The trooper was given a number to a Boston Police Detective investigating the past gun incident, according to radio transmissions. Patrolmen from the Barnstable Police Department assisted the trooper during the stop.
Above: Barnstable Police patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on Bearses Way at around 10:00 p.m. last evening. The stop happened in the area of U-Haul. After an investigation, the driver, Kyle McDowell, 38, of Hyannis was arrested for two counts of Possession of Class B Drugs with Intent to Distribute, according to police sources. According to sources, the suspect was allegedly hiding some of the drugs inside of his mouth. The suspect was safely arrested and transported to Barnstable Police Headquarters for booking. He was reportedly released on personal recognizance later during the overnight.
