HN PHOTOS: NARCS ARREST MAN AFTER HYANNIS FOOT PURSUIT
HYANNIS – A number of state and Barnstable police narcotics agents chased a man through a busy downtown parking lot in the East End yesterday afternoon. An arrest was ultimately made in the vicinity of the Hyannis Transportation Center.
A surveillance video shows several plainclothes officers chasing a man across a full parking lot, reportedly yelling, “get on the ground, police!” Unmarked backup units arrive shortly thereafter to assist…
There were no injuries.
Civilian foot traffic and business operation continued with very little interruption.
Many of the the agents at yesderday’s scene are members of a drug unit assigned to the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office. The agents requested their images be obscured as a courtesy.
According to sources, the arrest appears to be part of routine, clandestine drug enforcement in the area. The suspect was transported back to Barnstable Police Headquarters for booking. No further details regarding yesterday’s investigation were available at the time of this report…
