HN PHOTOS: SHAKEDOWN STREET
“Nothin’ shakin’ on shakedown street, used to be the heart of town
Don’t tell me this town ain’t got no heart, you just gotta poke around…”

HN NOTES & PHOTOS: A female state trooper responded to a Hyannis neighborhood to assist several Barnstable Police patrolmen in searching a female suspect early Tuesday morning, 5/2/2023. The female suspect was placed under arrest for possession of what officers suspected to be a quantity of Fentanyl, which appeared to be for personal use.
Barnstable patrol officers, a couple in unmarked police vehicles, had initiated the investigation of three individuals in the vicinity of Baxter Road and Lewis Road around midnight. The female suspect was transported to BPD Headquarters to be booked on a drug possession charge, according to a police source. The other two individuals cooperated and were free to go once the street investigation had been completed.
In the top HN photo, officers carefully secure evidence related to the arrest.
Patrol officer-initiated street investigations and arrests are a common occurrence in the downtown Hyannis area.
