MASHPEE – A 27-year-old driver was hurt after his vehicle took out a fire hydrant and narrowly missed a utility pole before striking a tree and rolling over onto its roof this morning on Great Neck Road North at the intersection with Ryan’s Way.
Police and firefighters responded to the scene at about 12:45 a.m..
As you will hear in the following HN Video, a computer check came back showing that the driver’s license was expired in Massachusetts, and that he had a suspended license out of New Jersey. The vehicle was registered in New Jersey to a younger driver with the same last name…
Mashpee Fire Department transported the driver to Falmouth Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, according to on scene sources.
The Mashpee Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
