HARWICH – Firefighters responded to a structure fire at “163” Great Western Road (the number on the garage was actually 161) Sunday evening at about 8:30 p.m..
The first firefighters on scene found flames and heavy smoke coming from the outside of the garage. Minutes after arriving, a Harwich Firefighter announced they already had half the flames knocked down.
Once the fire was out, crews began checking for extension and ventilating the buildings.
The property was vacant and appeared to be under some type of construction…
The efficient actions of firefighters saved the garage and attached home from further damage.
