MARSTONS MILLS – As you will see in the following HN Video, Barnstable Police are investigating an accident where a vehicle jumped the curb and took out a post before slamming into a tree on Osterville/West Barnstable Road this afternoon.
 
The driver was evaluated by rescue before police placed him in handcuffs and searched the vehicle.
 
He was eventually set free after officers conducted a search of the vehicle.
 
It’s still unknown why the vehicle left the roadway at the time of this report. Barnstable Police are investigating.

Update: According to an unofficial source, the driver may have been forced off the roadway when another motorist slammed on the brakes… it’s also important to note the driver was not arrested.
