HYANNIS DRUG BUST: 24-year-old charged with 3 counts of Distribution after allegedly selling coke to undercover informant…
HYANNIS – According to a report filed in Barnstable District Court by Massachusetts State Trooper Michael Kadingo, during this past April members of the Cape Cod Drug Task Force Unit (CCTF) began investigating the alleged cocaine trafficking activities of Stefan James, age 24.
Between April 24, 2019 and May 7, 2019, officers used a confidential informant who allegedly completed three controlled drug purchases of cocaine directly from James and his associate, Eric Burton.
On May 16, 2019, Troopers applied for and were granted Massachusetts State Search Warrants for Stefan James and his residence located at 90 Kilkore Drive in Hyannis.
On May 21, 2019, members of the CCTF planned to execute the warrants. James was observed leaving his residence in a 2017 gray Toyota Rav4 and troopers pulled him over at the intersection of Pitchers Way and West Main Street in Hyannis. James was searched with negative results but was placed under arrest for the three previous alleged controlled drug buys. Officers then proceeded to James’ house to execute the second warrant.
Officers reportedly approached 90 Kilkore Drive, knocked and announced, “STATE POLICE, SEARCH WARRANT!” James’ uncle, grandmother, and another man were located inside the domicile. The scene was secured and searched. Officers located several pills to include Gabapentin, currency and evidence of distribution.
James was transported the Massachusetts State Police barracks in South Yarmouth where he was charged with three counts of Distribution of a Class B Substance (Cocaine) and Conspiracy.
Stefan James was held on $5000 cash bail after his arraignment in Barnstable District Court on Wednesday, May 23, 2019.
