HN NOTES: “Goodbye 2020…”
(HN Photo taken today somewhere in Hyannis, this last day of 2020…)
[HN NOTES] It’s true; in about 12 hours 2020 will be no more, arguably the worst year ever, according to some.
How do I feel about it? I’ll tell you how I feel – in case you’re wondering – I feel like “meh, whatever…” never been a big fan of watching the ball drop on New Years Eve, if you know what I mean. It’s just another day. Just like any other day.
I’m a big fan of “another day.”
Does a specific passing date on a calendar ever change anything? What’s in a number? Will anyone have any good memories looking back at all the old numbered dates followed by the awful number “2020?” What about the babies born in 2020, either human or metaphorically speaking? Will anyone have any good memories of anything? Or does it all get tossed out with the proverbial bathwater?
Personally, I somehow manage to always have good memories. Even when things are horrible I’ve managed a good memory or two. Any day this side of the grass… any day this side of where time makes way for eternity… any day any of my loved ones somehow manage to survive all this, is typically a good day in my book.
Will things magically become better in 12 hours? Or is it what you make of any given moment?
“Meh, whatever…” ask me again after the cold beer I’m having finally takes hold… when I’m reading that well written book… in the comfort of my simple room… with a my happy puppy by my side, smiling like happy puppies always smile. Ask me then…
In the meantime, please have a very safe and splendiferous series of good moments… without numbers… going forward, from here until the hereafter.
