Motorcyclist airlifted with severe head trauma after Hyannis crash… [HN VIDEO]
HYANNIS – A motorcyclist is fighting for his life this morning after a crash on Straightway at about 1:30 a.m. this morning.
The first Barnstable Patrolmen on scene found an unconscious male down on the ground next to his motorcycle in the front yard of 239 Straightway.
The unconscious motorcyclist was described as being about 35-years-old with severe head trauma, according to EMS radio transmissions. He was taken to Barnstable Municipal Airport in a Hyannis Rescue ambulance and airlifted to an off-Cape trauma center.
Barnstable Police immediately requested one of their accident reconstruction experts to the scene and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
The following HN Video starts moments after the initial police officers arrived on scene. It ends with the patient being airlifted from Barnstable Municipal Airport. Although the shots are carefully edited, this was a very active scene showing police and firefighters doing their best to save a life. It was an intense scene and viewer discretion is advised.
