EARLY MORNING FISTICUFFS: Female with young child in stroller suffers facial laceration outside Hyannis apartment building… [HN VIDEO]
HYANNIS – At about 2:25 a.m., Barnstable Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance between two females outside of an apartment building on Phinneys Lane. The first officers on scene requested Hyannis Rescue respond for what was described as a “facial laceration.”
As you will see in the following HN Video, an adult female was treated in the back of an ambulance for a facial wound but was not transported to hospital. The injured female was in the company of a young child in a stroller.
As you will hear in the following HN Video, police conducted computer checks on a license plate and a couple of personal identification numbers. All numbers came back to adult females, all with a history of violent charges on their record.
Since this particular fray did not involve dangerous weapons, or any other elements that would lead to a compulsory arrest or felony charges, including also not being witnessed by police officers, it was determined to be a “simple assault.” Officers instructed at least one of the parties involved on how to take out their own criminal complaint in district court.
Since there was a young child present during the early morning disturbance, officers planned on making the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families aware of the situation.
There was no further information available at the time of this report.
