HYANNIS – A male was arrested for drunk driving after police received reports of a possible rollover crash involving three vehicles on Main Street earlier this evening, at about 7:10 p.m..
Upon arrival, HN observed two parked vehicles that were apparently struck by a third vehicle. One witness told HN the third vehicle allegedly went up on its side briefly after crashing into the two parked cars. The male driver of the vehicle that struck the parked cars was evaluated by Hyannis Rescue and refused further treatment.
As you will see in the following HN Video, a Barnstable Patrolman began investigating the driver of the third vehicle for suspicion of Operating Under the Influence. The officer conducted field sobriety tests, along with a portable breathalyzer test. The driver was ultimately arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
The West End of Main Street Hyannis needed to be completely closed to traffic while first responders worked the scene. Two of the involved vehicles were towed from the scene.
