*** WATCH *** DISTURBANCE: Police respond to Hyannis restaurant after someone vandalized multiple planters…
HYANNIS – As you will see in the following HN Video, shortly after closing time this morning, Barnstable Police Officers responded to a Main Street restaurant for a man and woman suspected of vandalizing several of the flower planters there. The couple are also accused of having exhibited volatile behavior while they were patrons at the restaurant. At one point they reportedly had to be escorted from the establishment by staff. As you will hear, the couple is said to have left, but then returned. Police arrived and began speaking with the male and female outside of the restaurant. At first, officers tried to defuse the situation and the intention was to somehow get the pair back to their nearby hotel room. Everything appeared to be civilized at first, but eventually a decision was made to take the female into protective custody. As you will see, that’s when things escalated to the point of arrests being made. The male reportedly picked up the charge of resisting arrest. And as you will see, the female may be looking at assault charges. Also, during the commotion, the male asked the police sergeant “Do you know who I am?” At the time of this report it remains uncertain what the male actually meant by that remark… HN will provide updates as they become available. Watch the following HN Video to see what happened next.
* All suspects are presumed to be innocent until charged and proven guilty in a court of law…
