First responders and bystanders stop to help woman after single vehicle slams into utility poles… [HN PHOTOS]
HYANNIS – The first people on scene found a woman down in the street, conscious and alert, but obviously upset and in pain.
At around 7:00 p.m. this evening, police and firefighters responded to Barnstable Road in front of Cape Mart for a truck crashed into a utility pole. The crash happened during a steady rain. Bystanders were already on scene trying to comfort the woman on the ground, outside of the driver’s side door.
Hyannis rescue arrived and transported the woman to Cape Cod Hospital. (Although banged up, she was expected to be okay.)
One of the poles was damaged and leaning over the scene. The proper utility company was notified to begin repairs.
The Barnstable Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
