*** WATCH *** Firefighters check for extension after grass fire catches onto Hyannis residence…
HYANNIS – As you will see in the following HN Video, at about 4:42 p.m. this afternoon, Hyannis Firefighters responded to 53 School Street for a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival crews found that a grass fire had caught onto an occupied cottage to the rear of the property. The homeowner had reportedly already knocked down the brunt of fire with a garden hose.
Firefighters then had to tear into to the outer wall near a sliding glass door after finding signs of extension into the building. At the time of this report, it appears that any extension has wet down…
There were no reported injuries.
