WILD CRASH: Driver unharmed after barreling through three properties, heard explaining gas pedal got stuck…
HYANNIS – A driver, obviously shaken up and amazed he wasn’t seriously hurt, can be heard explaining that his gas pedal got stuck after his Mercedes barreled through three properties, finally becoming embedded in a chain link fence at the corner of Mitchell’s Way and Pitchers Way at around 8:55 p.m. this evening…
… and first responders were equally amazed he walked away without serious injuries, as it was evident that the vehicle never braked after narrowly missing trees and shattering fences.
In the following HN Video you’ll see the scene unfold moments after Barnstable Police and Hyannis Rescue arrived on scene. The driver was checked out inside an ambulance but did not require additional medical attention. “He was lucky,” was a common phrase being spoken between cops and firefighters. In the HN Video, you’ll also see officers investigating the scene, trying to piece together what happened. There were no indications that the driver was impaired and he was eventually picked up and driven away from the scene by another male.
Nobody was injured and there was no further information available at the time of this report. But one thing is for certain, he definitely was lucky.
