HYANNIS – A Barnstable Police sergeant stopped a Toyota Highlander that had been traveling along on a flat tire on Sea Street early this morning, possibly after striking a curb.
A computer check came back to the 22-year-old male driver out of Sandwich. According to records he had a suspended drivers license.
After field sobriety testing, the driver was taken into custody under the suspicion of Operating Under the Influence of Liquor. He was transported back to Barnstable Police Headquarters where he would be offered the opportunity to take a breathalyzer test.
Officers checked Sea Street and surrounding streets for signs of damage related to a possible crash, with negative results.
