COPPERS: 26-year-old attempted to break into home during nighttime…
SOUTH YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police say they located and arrested a 26-year-old South Dennis man after receiving a report from a female saying she was awoken by the sound of her screen door opening.
Police responded to the call at approximately 1:49 a.m., Thursday morning – September 10, 2020.
“The reporting party also stated that she could see the knob to the exterior door turning as the suspect was attempting to make entry,” according to a Yarmouth Police Department media statement.
The media release then states the suspect, “Russell Chase, of South Dennis, was located on the property and placed under arrest.”
Chase was arrested for the alleged attempted breaking and entering into the house. He was then transported back to Yarmouth Police Headquarters where he was processed and booked for Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime (attempted). He was also charged with Trespassing.
No further details were available at the time of this report.
