*** WATCH *** VICIOUS HYANNIS ATTACK VIDEO LEADS TO ARREST…

HYANNIS – A cellphone video surfaced yesterday, allegedly showing a local man quickly getting out of a red sedan and viciously cold-cocking another man who was standing a short distance away, apparently facing away from the sudden vile attack. The attack allegedly happened on Monday at around 7:26 p.m., according to the man who took the video. It happened in front of the Mini Food Mart at 252 Main Street next to the Hyannis Transportation Center. The “sucker punch” type blow appears to have knocked the victim to the ground, temporarily making him unconscious.

To complicate matters, the apparent attacker was brandishing what appeared to be a large kitchen knife as onlookers moved out of his way. Other sources reportedly saw what they believed to be a large kitchen knife being waved around during the assault. Although the knife does not appear to be in the hand that caused the knockout blow, it did appear to deter others from stopping the attack.

The video was alarming to say the least. Other sources related stories that a man named Reggie was out of control and that people on the street were in fear. And that something needed to be done about Reggie…

The video was promptly forwarded to the Barnstable Police Department. An arrest was made after an investigation into the incident:

Reginald Stanback, age 62, of Hyannis, was arrested today by Barnstable Police Officers. Stanback was charged with Assault and Battery, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Disorderly Conduct. Stanback was transported back to BPD Headquarters for booking earlier this morning. He was expected to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court sometime today.
