HN PHOTOS: 45-year-old woman transported to CCH after struck by car on Main Street…
HYANNIS – A 45-year-old woman was reportedly stepping off the sidewalk between cars to cross Main Street in the West End late Sunday afternoon when she was struck by a car. The low, late day sun may have effected the driver’s visibility, according to sources on scene. The vehicle did manage to brake, but there was contact, knocking the woman to the ground, according to sources. The patient reportedly did not lose consciousness and was able to stand up as first responders arrived on scene. She was transported to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation for possible injuries not believed to life-threatening.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was fully cooperative with police. There was no visible damage to the vehicle.
Another woman who was apparently with the victim, sat in the front seat of the Hyannis FD ambulance, obviously very worried about the patient’s condition…
The Barnstable Police Department is investigating..
