HN PHOTOS: The Hyannis sunrise… (a cautionary tale)
HYANNIS – [HN NOTES] – Police would like a word with the idiot who ran over a park bench before driving a Chevy van onto Veteran’s Beach this morning.
Shortly before sunrise, at about 5:30 a.m., a Barnstable Patrolwoman discovered an abandoned van stuck in the sand at the beach’s waterline, about 100 yards from the parking lot.
The empty van reportedly smelled like booze and there was blunt roach in the space where the van appeared to have last been parked.
The van is reportedly registered to an individual in West Yarmouth and had not been reported stolen, as of yet…
According to radio transmissions, a Yarmouth Patrolman apparently paid the registered owner a visit and advised him to contact the Barnstable Police Department.
The van was removed by Ziggy’s Towing and the incident remains under investigation by the BPD.
