HN PHOTOS CON SALSITA: ¡Conoce Corina y Jorge de “El Mariachi Loco!”
HYANNIS – [HN NOTES] – It was a pleasure to stop by and make some quick working portraits of Corina and Jorge at “El Mariachi Loco” earlier this evening. El Mariachi Loco, located at 569 Main Street, is an authentic Mexican Restaurant with a family friendly/neighborhood vibe.
In our brief conversation, I learned El Mariachi Loco is very much a family run operation. Jorge, who started the popular Main Street restaurant with his brother, is originally from Patzcuaro, a Mexican town in the state of Michoacán, well known for its traditional colonial-indigenous charm and cuisine, which includes tamales, tarasca soup, and red pozole, to name just a few. And it looks like El Mariachi Loco takes its commitment to authenticity very seriously as they travel our local region in search for just the right ingredients necessary to bring out that true back-home flavor.
It was a pleasure to have a moment to stop and speak with Corina and Jorge. And it was good to see a thriving Mexican “take out” style restaurant just a stone’s throw away from many downtown family neighborhoods, including my own.
