HN PHOTOS: Hyannis male accused of driving drunk through family’s fence…

HYANNIS – [HN NOTES & MULLINGS ON THE MATTER] – The local drinkin’ and drivin’ community could have a newly confirmed member if things don’t work out in court for a 35-year-old Hyannis male accused of plowing through a fence while intoxicated last evening.
The single vehicle crash happened around midnight on Winter Street. And the residents of the Winter Street domicile looked as if they could barely believe someone had just crashed through their fence and into their stuff, which included a motorcycle. But these things happen on the Cape, and nobody is safe IMHO, or immune, as long as there are alleged drunks and distracted drivers out there. So keep your eyes peeled because some selfish alleged drunk idiot could be riding a 4000 pound, out-of-control street missile right toward you and your loved ones at any moment!
According to police sources, last evening’s drunk driving suspect’s blood alcohol concentration was way over the legal limit. His breathalyzer results were allegedly 0.24%. The legal limit in Massachusetts is 0.08%. But his alleged results may no longer matter in court according to a November 17th, 2021 MassLive.com report about a Massachusetts judge recently ordering statewide “that breathalyzer tests be excluded as evidence against drivers charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, pending a review of the tests and the state lab charged with overseeing them.” CLICK HERE to read that recent MassLive.com report. (CAUTION: Read it ONLY if you want to be more worried about public safety in the Commonwealth than you already are… EGAD!)
“IT’S OFFICIAL: Drunk driving is now legal in Massachusetts!” is one headline I hope I never have to write. But stay tuned… and take cover! (I mean that in all sincerity.)
The male accused of driving drunk through a family’s fence last evening is formally being charged with Operating Under the Influence (of Liquor), Unlicensed Operation, Negligent Operation, and Marked Lanes violation.
* All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
