At around 3am this morning, Yarmouth police and firefighters responded to a cranberry bog just off Rte 28 in West Yarmouth to help a man whose “friend(s)” left him stranded in a irrigation ditch. The man had been out celebrating the New England Patriots’ Monday night victory when one thing led to another and someone took a wrong turn, landing them sideways in a cranberry bog irrigation canal. The driver fled the scene, leaving the poor passenger wedged against the passenger-side door for at least two hours. Being a rather large fella, he was unable to climb over the center console to freedom.
