HN PHOTOS: Male arrested for A&B on person over age 60… senior transported to CCH with eye injury…
HYANNIS – Barnstable Police Officers responded to the bus stop inside the Cape Cod Mall parking lot near Route 28 earlier this evening for reports of a fight. An older male suffered an eye injury. He was transported to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment. Several witnesses remained on scene to speak with police. A younger adult male was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery on a Person Over 60 years of age.
In Massachusetts, assault and battery on an elderly person is a felony that carries up to 3 years in state prison and $1,000 fine. An “elderly” person is anyone 60 years of age or older under this statute.
