SWEET! Recent HN photos and donuts!
Meet Frankie! I was grabbing a coffee and had just told Frankie about my goal to make quick portraits of some of the wonderful people I get to meet during the overnights… and would she mind if I made one of her? and she agreed. These were taken very quickly, unrehearsed and wow β she’s a natural!
Frankie got up at 3:00 a.m today in order to open up the Honey Dew Donuts across from the airport. She has been serving up coffee and donuts for the Hyannis rush hour hot-spot for over three years. Frankie says she enjoys her schedule because she gets so much done early and has the rest of the day to herself. Thank you Frankie!
(And please don’t forget to tip the wonderful people who keep us rollin’ with fresh coffee!)

In another overnight HN Photo, Barnstable Patrol Officers had a word with a couple of young men who were allegedly being a little too rambunctious in the downtown Hyannis area early this morning. Officers had to temporarily cuff one of the young men while explaining to them that they received complaints about one of them allegedly causing a disturbance outside a nearby bar. Both men agreed to tone things down for the remainder and were sent on their way….

In another overnight HN Photo, a Barnstable Patrolman is seen leading a young man away in handcuffs after responding to a residential disturbance where he had allegedly just assaulted one of his friends. The call was a little tense at first because the young man was said to be holding a razor…

In another recent HN Photo, a homeless individual was wrapped in blankets as the sun began rising in the downtown area. HN tends to photograph these scenes this time of year as the temperatures begin to drop. The safety of the homeless is a yearly concern in Hyannis. In another recent HN photo, officers respond to an alarm and find an unsecured door at the old abandoned Kmart building. They checked the building but did not find anyone inside.

And last but not least, I freakin’ love this old bus, man! (That’s all…)
