*** WATCH *** Driver transported to ER after crash snaps pole, brings down live wires…
HYANNIS – A woman was carefully extricated from a vehicle surrounded by live wires earlier this evening.
The single vehicle crash into a utility pole happened in the area of 356 Scudder Avenue.
As you will see in the following HN Video, the driver was carefully placed onto a stretcher and cautiously wheeled to safety as police officers closed down the area. She was then transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
There was a snapped utility pole and live wires across the roadway. Scudder Ave needed to be completely shut down. Eversource was still on scene making repairs at the time of this report.
The Barnstable Police Department is investigating what caused the woman to drive off the roadway into the pole. HN will provide official updates as they become available.
