*** WATCH *** TWO SEPARATE DOWNTOWN HYANNIS CRIME SCENES FOR THE PRICE OF ONE! One arrested for not stopping… then another transported with stab wound…
HYANNIS – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, Barnstable Police patrol officers were dealing with what turned into two separate crime scenes early this morning. Both calls happened simultaneously in the downtown/Main Street area of Hyannis, shortly after 1:00 a.m..
In the first scene presented in the video, a male driver failed to pull over and remain stopped for police officers on Main Street. The initial reason for the stop was a minor traffic violation. The male driver appeared to be stopping at first but then decided to continue on for several blocks, leading police on a slow-speed pursuit with speeds reaching into the mid-teens.
When the driver stopped on North Street, several blocks from the initial alleged infraction, he was detained in handcuffs and ultimately arrested for Failing to Stop, as well as not having a valid drivers license, according to sources on scene.
HN learned that this was not the first time the same driver has allegedly failed to stop for officers in Barnstable.
In the second scene, a bleeding adult male was observed walking around Main Street in the area of the village green. Police were subsequently called. Upon arrival, officers learned the male had actually been stabbed. The stabbing victim was reportedly not being fully cooperative with investigating officers trying to find out who had stabbed him…
The stabbing victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital. His condition was unknown at the time of this report…
