Hyannis woman accused of going on rampage, hurling brick at former roommate’s head…
HYANNIS – This past Saturday afternoon – 12/22/2018 – Barnstable Police Officer Kevin Shaw was on routine uniform patrol when he was dispatched to 48 Greenwood Ave for a report of a former tenant causing a disturbance and vandalizing the property.
Upon arrival, Patrolman Shaw spoke with the property manager and learned the suspect had already left in a vehicle shortly after allegedly leaving a trail of destruction.
Inside the residence, Patrolman Shaw reportedly observed food thrown all over the kitchen, Chocolate syrup poured over counters, and rock salt thrown onto the floor.
There was a hole in the wall outside of another tenant’s room. Patrolman Shaw asked the male tenant how the hole in the wall happened and was reportedly told the suspect had thrown a brick at him. The tenant pointed toward a brick on the floor, reportedly telling Officer Shaw he was quickly able to duck inside his room to avoid being hit in the head by the brick.
When asked why the former tenant had hurled a brick at him, the male tenant said it was an argument over his cell phone which she wanted to use…
The brick was believed to have been supporting a kitchen counter before it was turned into dangerous projectile.
The scene was photographed as officers tracked the suspect down to an address in the Hyannis East End.
When questioned, the female suspect denied making a mess and claimed to know nothing about a brick being thrown. She reportedly told officers she was simply retrieving her belongings after being evicted.
Kimberly M. Vautrinot, age 49, of Hyannis, was charged with two felonies, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon – a brick, and Injury to Real or Personal Property.
At her arraignment, Vautrinot was ordered to stay away from 48 Greenwood Ave before being released on personal recognizance. Her Pretrial Hearing is scheduled for 1/17/2019.
* All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
