UPDATE – 4/27/2021 – HN spoke with ownership at Tugboats – because they were concerned about the following report – and according to staff there was no actual fight inside the Tugboats restaurant that day… and it’s unclear how police were informed about a large fight inside… either way, the nature of this call is extremely uncharacteristic of Tugboats, which typically caters to a ‘family friendly’ clientele.

WEST YARMOUTH/BARNSTABLE TOWN LINE – [HN NOTES] – Screw the groundhog, for some locals large bar fights are the only reliable proof that warmer weather has finally arrived…

At about 6:00 p.m., Yarmouth and Barnstable police cruisers raced toward Tugboats next to the Hyannis Marina for a report of a “large group of people fighting inside.” Upon arrival, officers learned all combatants had already dispersed.

Yarmouth police officers caught up with several of the involved parties at a nearby beach parking area. At least one of the group appeared highly intoxicated. Officers showed an abundance of patience standing by “babysitting” until a sober person could arrive and drive the young men home.
