HyTown drug problem second to “climate change…”
Hyannis – Police once again responded to the cemetery behind the Federated Church today for a report that two males were sitting against a tree smoking crack.
Officers Cairns and Parache caught up to the individuals and searched them. No arrests were made, however both males were trespassed from the property for a period of one year.
In other news, Officer Downs checked up on a young female who was showing adverse signs of drug usage and/or withdrawal.

The anxious female was continually scratching her legs, involuntarily twitching, and appeared to be having muscle spasms.
Hyannis Rescue responded and transported her to the emergency room at Cape Cod Hospital.
Officer Downs followed rescue to CCH for a followup investigation.
Dangerous illicit drug use is a daily problem in the downtown area and more needs to be done.
I checked the Town of Barnstable website and there is plenty of information on Arts and Culture, Beaches and Parking, Licensing and Permitting, Conservation, Animal Control… I even found a Committee that addresses “climate change” and reducing our “carbon footprint…”
… but I could find absolutely nothing about reducing dangerous illicit drug usage on the town hall’s front lawn, let alone the public streets and school zones. (Maybe it’s in small print, so if you find something on this important topic, please feel free to email it to me…)
The Town of Barnstable needs to wake up. I regretfully guarantee that more people will die from drug abuse than from “climate change” or our “carbon footprint.”
We are in the middle of a dangerous drug epidemic and our town government is silent about the real “inconvenient truth.”
