HyTown urchins smash downtown school window… [Updated]
12/20/2013 Update: According to Barnstable Police Sergeant Ben Baxter, two suspects were charged in last night’s incident at the Sturgis Charter School. Taquan Anderson, a 22-year-old homeless man originally from Buffalo, NY, was charged with the felony of Injury to Real or Personal Property. He was also arrested on a warrant out of the Plymouth Courts for Injury to Real or Personal Property as well…
The second suspect, 22-year-old Tyreek Wheeler of Hyannis, was charged with the felony of Injury to Real or Personal Property. He was also charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon.
Side note: Years ago there was a young homeless man who would walk downtown in the early winter and throw a brick through a store window and wait for the cops to arrive. His intention was to get locked up so he could spend the colder months inside the much warmer house of correction. His plan usually worked.
It’s uncertain if last night’s suspects had a similar plan in mind because they definitely tried to run away… unsuccessfully I might add…
It’s uncertain what their intentions were, if they had any at all…
Original story:
Hyannis – At about 9:30pm a witness observed three young males smash the front plate glass display window at the Sturgis Charter School at 427 Main Street.

All three took off towards the Village Green.
Police quickly responded and captured two of the suspects near the steps to Town Hall.

Another suspect kept running towards the rear of the bandstand. He was captured several minutes later…

The suspects were identified by the witness at the scene of their arrests.

Above photo: One suspect was questioned by police and released.
The other two suspects were reportedly transported back to Barnstable Police Headquarters for booking. They most likely will be charged with felonious Injury to Real or Personal Property…
Hyannis News will provide updates as they become available.

For the second day in a row, Barnstable Police were called to the Cape Cod Hospital Emergency Center after someone walked in with a stab wound…
Hospital staff are obliged to call police whenever someone presents with a stab or gunshot wound.
Yesterday’s “stab victim” arrived from Centerville and quickly fled the area when told that police were on the way…. but did show back up for treatment about ten minutes later. (It was as if the victim had something to hide or discard…)
